Who’s Aslan?

Maybe there is a Narnia inside a wardrobe and we’re not the only ones who want to visit it. If you’re going to believe in god, it’s no stretch to imagine they might rule over more than one reality … maybe they jump from one to another like a teacher with a class full of different students. Personally, I do my best work when the teacher has left the room or moved on to another student, because it means no more scrutinizing commentary or eyes looking over my shoulder, less pressure, and more room to experiment. This sense of relief and confidence in its potential for positive effect is surely felt on both sides. So maybe he needs a Narnia as much as we need him to visit it once in a while. But we all stay connected one way or another — teacher and student, god and subject — because the lessons are still there, and so is the wardrobe.
