Come together or separate?

An eternal decision .. come together or separate, join forces or be your own force, find a common purpose or find a purpose, common or otherwise. The former means horsepower, useful for knocking down obstacles and building a well paved road to your destination. But you and will have to deal with things like compromise and shared sacrifice, necessary remedies for preserving large unions. The latter means more freedom from those notions, but less power, less momentum, less greatness. Which would you choose? — I’d say it depends on the situation, but when it comes to the European Union, given the regions history, I think we know which direction things are heading.
